I remember that once I stood before the window of a former Gebethner bookstore (I didn't know what the name was at the time), where books and records were on display. A couple from the provinces, an old man with the face of a squire and his wife, stopped next to me. The squire pointed to a record with Brahms' Fourth Symphony. That is very difficult music, he said to his wife.
I was transported into raptures: I was not alone in my wanderings."
