AUDRE LORDE
Angry poet, Audre Lorde,
Seldom whispered, often roared.
Really rattled the Sisterhood.
Did them all a world of good.
*In her own words, Lorde was a "black, lesbian, mother, warrior, poet". In an African naming ceremony before her death, she took the name Gamba Adisa, which means "Warrior: She Who Makes Her Meaning Known".
