From I'm Just a Person, by Tig Notaro
SCHOOL
"I was on board learning colors and shapes, or taking questions when the answers were chicken, duck, horse, pig, cow, goat, or sheep. But when the curriculum began to include learning to tell time or long division or memorizing the names of the planets, it just wasn't fun anymore. I mean, I didn't mind easy things like 'rounding off,' because my answer could be 'I don't know, for? Five? Get off my case, I'm rounding.' Otherwise my interest level in whatever was being taught at school registered at zero."
