Your personal connection must have added an unusual dimension to the anxiety that such a journey, made by Lev's side and in company with known and unknown ghosts from the past, might possibly end in tragedy at the bottom of cliff you stepped off of together. Your description of coming out safely on the other side with your newfound knowledge of your good acquaintance is a gorgeous tribute to the bond we make with each exceptional author we choose to read. Take us there; but bring us back.
